GeneralFocus test - Joining, quitting a game

  • Post here all bugs related to joining a game, waiting for players, quitting a game.

When you close your browser without quitting a game properly, if you go back to the game you should be taken back to the ongoing game. This needs to be tested as well. This is important so players are able to get back into action if their browser crash or anything similar happens.

  • I am having a problem playing a game. When I don't close the game properly and try to go on it again, it says that the game is currently ongoing, even though there are 0/1 players on the game. I did this again with the second 0/1 game and got off properly, but the same thing happened as well. Could this be because I'm clicking something wrong, or there are actually people playing the games, and the players just aren't showing up? Thank you for reading this!

  • Nah, it's a bug.

Currently, when all players quit an ongoing game, there is no check to stop the game, which should happen.

So right now, when you're quitting a game, the 10 minutes timer keeps counting down. The game only becomes available again after the countdown is over.

I'll change the way it works so the game ends if all players leave.

  • I've had problems exiting the game. Once it said the game ended yet it did not exit the game. Pressing the exit button did nothing.

Second time I tried just exiting a game and it popped up the dialog to exit but didn't.

  • cpt_grim, did you see the game result page with the scores the first time?

  • No

  • ok, I'm pretty sure I have found the the problem related to that. This will be part of an upcoming update which includes a bunch of stuff. Joining and quitting games should be much more stable in the next update.

    Thanks for your help.

  • I seem to be getting kicked out about 20-30 seconds before my time is up :(

  • Browsers: Chrome 3,0, IE 7.0

I joined a 2 player game and was waiting for Chase. After a while, I got an alert saying:

'Type error: Cannot read property 'lenght' of undefiened.'

I closed the alert, and got a new one saying:

'Type error: Cannot read property 'offsetLeft' of null.

I got that alert 5 times in a row, until I checked the box blocking alerts.

Once that stopped, I saw that the game I had joined was 1/2 players. I thought Chase was in, tried to join, nothing happens, no new allerts, just nothing. I could join a one player game, just not that one.

Also, my blimp level 6 was refused access to the one player pirate game with max level 10, but I think that's because my blimp has boosters level 20 that didn't up the level, but now that you adjusted the stats I guess they count.

passive booster speed level 20 adds 20 levels, but damages level 20 still only add 1.

Tried again joining the 2 player game with Chase. I got Type error: [object Error] but I got in.

  • Oh yeah, once that game ended, both of use just froze and had to leave the game by using the logout button.
