GeneralFocus Test - Blimp selection

  • When blicking the Build your blimps button and when joining a game you are asked to select a blimp. Post all bugs in this thread. Same if you are noticing things that are confusing.

  • Am I supposed to start with a level 38 blimp?

  • Don't bother with levels for now. All items can be used at the airman rank and everything cost 10 shillings.

    Levels will be taken care of later.

  • When buildings a blimp, if by adding passive boosters I exceed the weight limit, I get a warning that it's too heavy and I can't equip the booster, which is normal, but the active booster doesn't get a warning, I could add it even though I was at 2100/2100, and I ended up at 2150/2100.

    Also, changing hulls, balloons and boosters repeatedly seems to have mixed him up. I was at 2100/2100, took off a 50lbs active booster and added a 75lbs passive one, and ended up at 2100 again. Trying to add the same passive booster while I already had the active one in got me the warning about maximum weight, just a bit earlier.

  • Newer items cost 1 shilling, I'm guessing this will be changed once the game goes live.

    The block to keep from buying level 5 items until you reach Airman First Class works.

    * The active boosters 'Damages Boost Level 10' and 'Damages Boost Level 20' can't be bought, I see the pop-up on the upper right; Warning! Oops! This has already been sold to someone else.

    * For the balloons 'Overton Class Level 5', 'Vauxhall Class Level 5' and 'Darwin Class Level 5', we see 'Required rank: Airman' instead of 'Airman First Class' in the blimp building window.

    * For the active boosters, 'Speed Booster L10' shows a required rank of Master Sergent, 'Speed Booster L15' of Chief Master Sergent, 'Speed Booster L20' of Lieutenant and 'Speed Booster L5' of Airman First Class. As a First Class I can equip them all so either the prereq is not working, or their showing a prereq is an error. This prereq is not shown when buying the boosters.

    * The 'Anchor Level 10' and 'Anchor Level 20' active boosters, when hovering the mouse in the Blimp building window, show nothing at all. The Level 1 shows a required rank of Airman which is not shown in the Store.

    * Tornados all levels and Pirate Call have prereq Airman, not shown in store.

    /I keep getting an alert with 602 in the body, followed with another one with 603 in the body when opening the blimp building window and when trying to use the menu déroulant on top of the inventory to show only one type of item. Annoying, and it wasn't happening until I mistakenly checked the box stopping the alerts from the page. (which was stupid since I couldn't confirm the sales.) I closed the page and the alerts came back, I'm guessing clearing my cache will stop the alerts. Just annoying./

  • About the alert, clearing my cache didn't help :(

    Not only that, but I tried another browser and I'm still getting it.

    I can no longer sell items, and I have trouble opening the Blimp Building screen once I've closed it. I have to close the page and come back.

  • Someone else reported that 603 error. Could you take a screenshot of it and send it to admin@blimpwarsonline.com

    I can't seem to be able to get that error. Maybe it's some bad path linking to my dev machine so that's why I don't get to see that one. I'll try from another computer.

    The blimp building window is broken on my side. Nothing appears on the left side when I click on items from my inventory.

    Once the blimp building window is closed, I have to reload the game to be able to go back to it, or to join a game.

    Once I do that and open the building window again, I see the blimp I built blindly in the choices.

    The items in my inventory never change, I used the same balloon 3 times, and the same hull 4 times (Which might be why it's buggy) and they still appear in my inventory.

    // Ok, I post, and now it works...

    I didn't clear my cache in-between, did nothing really, and now my blimp shows on the right and items from my inventory disappear correctly once I click them to put them in the blimp.

    Go figure.

  • For the level of the Blimp, it is supposed to be every part's level added, right?

    At the moment, the cabin and the balloon's levels are added, but the active and passive boosters all (or at least most of them) add one level only.

    Meaning I have a level 5 cabin, a level 1 balloon and 3 boosters for a level 9 blimp, but all the boosters are level 20 and the Blimp is very, very strong. Blimps like that kinda defeat the purpose of having games with blimp level limits.

  • yeah, I'm currently adjusting on my development version all data related to stats, levels and prices of boosters. It should be online tomorrow.

    Right now most boosters are advertised as level 20 but the data behind is still level 1.

  • The blimp building window.

    * You can not 'un-equip' balloons and hulls, like you can do for boosters. * Once they are equipped, you can't see the stats anymore, and the tank capacity is not displayed in the stats box, so you have to go check in the Altus Store.

    * I keep getting alert boxes saying cannot reap property 'alt' of null when opening the blimp customization window, and when equipping a hull.

    * I deleted every item I had, and when I open the blimp building I see a choice of 4 blimps with avatars, but when I click on them the blimp is invisible.

    I then bought items to build a blimp of airman level, and built the first blimp.

    The problem is thus: I went in the second blimp customization and could re-use the same hull and balloon.

    Now, that means I can also sell them, even though they are in use on the first blimp.

    If I sell them, I still see the first blimp in the choosing window, but it's invisible in the customization of the first blimp.

    Yeah.

  • Not sure if I should just make a new discussion, but I've got 2 more.

    * 'target out of range' appeared in the lobby instead of ingame, while I was playing in Chrome.

    * When I came online, it said Chase was online, but he told me (ingame in golemizer) that he'd left blimp wars more then 15 minutes ago.

    Related, even after I've cleared my cache, I don't have to type in my username and password if I have not used sign out when leaving. I'd have though the clearing of the cache would make me have to sign back in? Or perhaps I need to clear the cookies?

    This never logging out might be why Chase was shown online?

  • The automatic login is linked to cookies. You must either hit the sign out or clear your cookies. Cache isn't linked to the login.

    If Chase didn't do a sign out, then the automatic logout is what will take care of his account. I'll double check the delay. I might have brought this more than 15 minutes as it was a bit annoying while just browsing the store (since there's no server interaction there unless you buy something).

  • I've re-tried just now, and even after I sign out, once I come back to beta.blimp wars I'm automatically logging in.

    Clearing the cookies stops it as you said, but signing out itself is only temporary.

    Also, I've created another account and that pretty much weirded out the cookies. Even if I don't sign out, let's say I accidentally close the window, I'm not taken back in. It's like it doesn't know which one he is supposed to bring back in.

    I joined a game as Ankashra, closed the window. opened a new one, came back to beta.blim... and it was showing me the login screen. I logged in as Arhsakna, logged out, logged as Ankashra and then I was back in game.

    Point is, multiple accounts in this game is SO not recommended.

    * As a side effect of multiple accounts, I died while typing this post and use the refresh button. That brought me back to the login screen, with option to Watch games...

    Can you please delete Arhsakna? ^^;

    * After choosing my blimp to start the game, I got an alert saying cannot read property 'offsetLeft' of null.

    I was using my level 2 blimp which had no trouble getting in a pirate type about 30 minutes earlier.

    ok so you don't always get that error if I understand right?

    That might probably mean some kind of events happening before it should really be happening. Like if something is not quite loaded but another part of the code try to access it. Would explain why it doesn't always happens and that I haven't seen the error yet.
